We need you to tell us about the premises from which you would operate the business;  its current postal address and type of property,  ownership status,  immediate environment and vehicular access. . .   all of which will help us to assess its suitability for purpose.

Whether you would intend to run your expost franchise from a spare bedroom,  a converted garage,  workshop or outbuilding;   an industrial or former retail unit,  an independent stand-alone property or from within a larger commercial space. . .   please take five minutes to complete the short  premises assessment form at the foot of this page.

experience it for yourself!

We'll contact you with the results of the assessment and invite you to visit the Philbeach mail centre for an 'experience day' so that you can see the business working at first hand.

Arriving here at 7am,  you will shadow Emma,  who runs the Philbeach in-house franchise,  until around 10am and will observe all mail handling procedures,  from log-in to despatch,  in real time.   You'll also get to meet the directors and support team,  watch ProPost in action and see the hardware and equipment we supply.   At the end of your visit you will to take away a copy of the franchise contract to be checked by your own,  independent,  legal professional.

Because of the early start we suggest that you book into a local B & B or hotel the night before. . .   ask us for a recommendation!

We are only able to host one Candidate and partner per experience day,  so please let us know your preferred date as soon as possible.

After your visit to Philbeach you will almost certainly be excited,  enthused and keen to grasp the opportunity. . .   but taking on an expost franchise is a huge step for you and a major risk for us,  which is why we will ask you not to contact us for seven days.

If you decide to go ahead,  you'll be making at least a five year commitment,  not just to expost,  but to every one of your mailbox customers who will come to depend upon the address that you have provided.   Imagine the collective inconvenience and cost involved if hundreds of your customers,  many of whom will be abroad,  are forced to change their mailing address with their banks,  building societies,  insurance companies,  the DVLA,  HMRC and every one of a dozen or more other correspondents!

You must take the time to stop,  think and consider the implications carefully and analytically before committing to the next five years.

At the end of your experience day we will give you a copy of your contract to take away with you.   You must take the contract to a legal professional of your choice,  have them explain its terms to you and sign the 'Statement of Understanding' as confirmation.


select a launch date

Because training is carried out in our working mail centre at Philbeach,  we can only offer twelve courses each year in order to minimise the impact on the centre's normal operation.   With each course limited to one franchisee (and partner or additional staff member,  if appropriate) it's very important to reserve your place as soon as you make the final decision to proceed.


contract & deposit

A non-refundable reservation deposit of £5,000 + VAT  ( £6,000 )  is payable on signing the contract.   This deposit helps to defray our costs in manufacturing your mailsort furniture,  creating the territory's website and compiling the rest of the franchise package ready for a launch immediately after training.

The balance of the franchise fee is payable 30 days prior to your chosen launch date.

On receipt of your reservation deposit and signed contract,  your Mail Centre's website is built,  search engine optimised and manually registered with all of the major search engines.   The manufacture of your mailsort furniture will be started,  the virtual support number commissioned and the rest of your franchise package components ordered.

We will also liaise with the Highways department of your local council to make any changes that are necessary to your address.   Over the intervening period we will send you several letters and packages in the new premises name to familiarise your delivery postmen and women,  and courier drivers,  with the updated address.

30 days to launch

The balance of your franchise fee becomes payable and your territory's website is opened to the public.

Please note:   Once the site is published,  it becomes more likely with each day that sales enquiries will be received and registrations submitted on-line,  so we will,  wherever possible,  pre-sell mailbox accounts at your centre with deferred activation dates.

14 days to launch

All of the hardware elements of your franchise package,  including sundries,  consumables,  parcel safe or chute and mailsort furniture is delivered to your centre's premises to be assembled,  set up and organised.   The computer system is pre-configured to allow us to test your secure ProPost connection and access,  so you must have a live broadband service in place from the day of delivery.

If you do not feel confident in assembling the mailsort frames or installing your parcel safe,  you will need to make arrangements in advance with an appropriate local tradesperson.

Active sales of mailbox accounts and live customer support will commence because it usually takes over a week for mail to begin arriving for a new account and we want you to be processing post as soon as possible,  to support your residential training.

The property and the address from which a mail centre is operated can be an important factor in our decision to allocate a territory.   We must commit at least five years to supporting the business at your premises,  so assessing its suitability must be our first concern and the reason we ask you to provide the following information.
